Teaching reactors
The training facilities, on small “teaching” reactors, provide for training and practice of:
- Nuclear plant operators (technicians and engineers) in charge of operating their installations
- Operators (deputy officers and officers) of nuclear-propelled ships (submarines, aircraft carriers, etc.)
- All personnel involved in nuclear installation operations (Safety Authority, R&D, etc.)
on theoretical subjects (neutronics) and practical subjects (control, instrumentation)
These teaching reactors can also be used for some research activity.
After 45 years of operations, the Ulysse reactor is in the process of shutting down. Its teaching assignments will be transferred to Isis, the reactor model of Osiris.
